Once you have reviewed/edited the transcript (happens on the Transcription server) you can then click on the "Import" option back within the NVivo software.Windows users will automatically see an option to review the transcript when done Mac users will have to click on the Refresh button first.Once the file is uploaded to the Transcription server, choose the language of the file and click on "Transcribe".If you were not already logged in to your myNVivo account, it will prompt you to do so.Drag and drop the file you want transcribed into the Transcription pane.On the top ribbon, select the Modules tab -> Transcription.
There are 2 main ways you can use the Transcription service: 1. Create a myNVivo Portal account (if you don't already have one).Register for NVivo Transcription via ITS.This can free up time so you can focus more on the analysis of your data. Open the media file in NVivo, turn on Edit then import the transcript file, following instructions in the appropriate NVivo Help topic below.Whether you are a user of the NVivo software or not, you can use the NVivo Transcription service to get automated transcription of audio and/or video files. Export the transcript as a text file (.txt, for NVivo Windows or Mac) or Word document (.docx, for NVivo Windows only).Edit the transcript in the web app to add speakers' names and make corrections.Upload and transcribe the media file on the Transcription website in the usual way Workflow.To transcribe a media file and import it and the transcript into NVivo: NVivo users with NVivo 11 or earlier, or who have NVivo 12 but do not meet the specified criteria (see note above), can still use NVivo Transcription to transcribe audio and video files for NVivo projects. To use NVivo Transcription from NVivo you must have a myNVivo account with a Transcription subscription or credits myNVivo. Other NVivo users can transcribe files on the Transcription website then import the transcripts into NVivo manually (see Import transcripts into NVivo manually below).
NOTE You can also transcribe directly from NVivo Version 12 (Windows or Mac) provided you are in Europe, Africa or the Middle East, or your first Transcription purchase was prior to 18 March 2020 (contact customer support with any difficulties). You can send any audio or video files that you have imported into NVivo (Release 1) directly to NVivo Transcription and return the transcripts-correctly associated with the media files-back into NVivo.
